Un-American for the USA to co-sponsor a capitulation proposal with the war criminal and aggressor state. That is NOT who we are. The American people and Congress should disavow themselves from this disgraceful act.
The Trump administration’s capitulation “Plan”, lies and obfuscations weaken Ukraine, weaken Europe, weaken the U.S. and weakens the free world. The only party it strengthens is Putin’s Russia and the enemies of democracy. Then again the Trump administration is an enemy of democracy.
Excellent summary. I am not certain that the Trump-Putin plan will die a clean death. Europe & Ukraine both want an end to the war and may treat the proposal as the starting point for negotiations.
I think the timing is designed to delay/complicate Europe's critical, pending decision on using Russian assets.
No decent or useful result can come out of this poison fruit, as you suggest. I hope Europe & Ukraine dismiss it, but hard to know.

Meanwhile, the Europeans can’t agree on how to use frozen Russian funds to help Ukraine. Trump isn’t the only bumbler here.
