Europe Moves On

I joined Ian Bremmer on PBS's GZERO World in Munich.

Last week in Munich, I joined Ian Bremmer on his PBS show, GZERO World. My main point was that if last year’s Munich Security Conference was all about what was happening with the United States, this year’s was all about what Europe would and should do. It’s a big change after the most tumultuous year in transatlantic relations. Those relations won’t end, but I argued that they will never be the same they were before Donald Trump returned to office.

We also talked about Russia’s continuing war against Ukraine and US efforts to bring it to an end. I warned that “a ceasefire is not in the interest of Ukraine”—a statement that has caused quite a bit of questions and pushback. So let me explain.
